WORLD TRACK AND FIELD DISCOUNT SALE...
Because I've learned that many of you can barely afford any of the items and secrets in the game, I've reduced all clothing articles and secrets 10 fold. So you can get that $1000 bodysuit you always wanted for the cheap cheap price of $100. That's 90% in savings! For those who did pay the full price, sorry about that, but hopefully these prices will be to your liking.

BECAUSE YOU'VE DEMANDED IT...
There have been complaints about the game being to hard, so I've made the career mode easier. You now start with 75 stat points for all attributes instead of 50, but you only have 10 extra stat points to spend. Hope that helps.

THE POSSIBILITY OF MOVING YOUR SAVED GAME?...
I've been looking into someone letting you find the saved game, then you could take that file, and take it with you to another machine. Here's what I found...

On Windows, local shared-objects are stored in Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects.
According to the Macromedia docs, local shared-objects has a file extension of .SO, but they seem to be saved with .SOL extension on my Windows XP

So I assume that if you manage to find this file, which will be called PLAYERSAVESLOT1_WTNF2K5, (all files associated with WTNF2K5 will have this in the name), you would save it somewhere, or even email it to yourself, then on another computer you would have to place the file in the same location

Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects, but of course
the userName would be different. Hope that works. If it works for anyone, give me a shout so I can let everyone else know.

ADRESSING POTENTIAL PROBLEMS...
Here I'll answer 4 of the main questions

What browser do I use?
Use Internet Explorer, for now. As far as I know it's the most compatible with the game. I can't guarantee success with any other browsers but you can try.

The page isn't loading?
Either you clicked offline instead of online at the beginning screen, or you didn't set the slider in settings to 1mb. This is usually the problem.

I'm stuck...
Click stuff. Sorry, I'll try to update the game to say stuff like "click here", but for now, when your mouse turns into the hand with the finger, click. 9 times out of 10 it'll get you where you want to go.

How do I turn off the commentary?
Click on options, then go to environment. Many of the game's options are in here.

Now hopefully this makes your gaming more enjoyable, and no, I won't make the career mode easier. Originally I was going to have the player start with 10 points each, so just be thankful.

NEED HELP?...
So people have been asking for help. I say to them, check out the online resources first, if you can't find what you're looking for, then by all means give me a shout.

YOU HAVE THE POWER NOW...
I have now added a forums page where you can chat about anything you want. Also, I have added my work log that documents the countless hours I've spent on this game. Also added is a section where you can see stadiums that other users have created using the stadium editor. Only 1 more day to go...

THE TRAILER...
Enough said.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC...
Track is an epic sport, so the only way to express it through music is also having an epic score. Expect Final Fantasy calibre music to grace the game and give you the player an emotional experience. But of course I haven't forgotten the old school music that graced WTNF 2K4. That to is also in the game...in a hidden form.

TESTING, TESTING, TESTING...
It never stops. I have been busy testing all possible scenarios in my game to provide you, the user, a hassle-free experience. Thanks to my testers for pointing out issues that needed attention, and issues that could occur. Of course, it's impossible to have no bugs in the program, but hopefully I've reduced as much as possible to allow you to have a great time playing this game.

ARE YOU THE GREATEST?...
That is the question that will be answered when you compete in the external module meets. Here you compete against the clock, or the tape measure, but your results will be compared against real people. Everyone will get some kind of reward for competing, but only the top 3 will reap the benefits. This is as close that I will get to actually playing someone else in real-time, but hopefully you'll enjoy the competition.

LET YOUR CREATIONS FLOW FREELY...
Again, returning in full force is the ability to create your character, with so much more. It's more like giving life to your creation. You can customize your character to your desire, weather it being a skinny black man from Africa, or a hulking white man from Russia, you have the control. But now you also have new attributes that define how your character competes, such as acceleration, top speed, speed endurance, endurance, hurdle technique, arm strength and leg strength. Then theres the mental aspect. Do you be an egotistical madman, or a conservative runner, or are you in the middle. Your mental status has a huge effect on how you run.

But, the customization has evolved from just being able to customize a human. For another first, you get to customize your very own stadium. From the lane colors, to the line colors, to the ground color, to even the decals on the track, you have the ability to create your very own track. Enjoy.

It's coming...it's banging at the door, itching to be released...when it does, who knows what will happen...

THE FUTURE IS NEAR...
It's been a month since I've revealed anything, as I have been hard at work, and what a month it has been. To get you more excited, here's what to expect in the career mode

WEIGHT TRAINING
You can be a good athlete just by running on the track every day, but what will make you great is lifting weights. That's why you have a full array of weight room equipment at your disposable. Not only will you get better, you'll also reduce your risk of an injury in the future.

GETTING A JOB
As you know, track is not a place where you don't earn money until you're an elite athlete. That's why you need a job. Of course you can't have the best jobs, because you still need to train. Expect to get the crappiest jobs on the market, but if you want the money, you'll have to work at these jobs.

THE LOTTERY
Again, it's a money issue. That's why you have the chance to win the lottery. Sure, it's gambling, but if you want some extra money, why not enter the lottery.

PROGRESSION OF THE PLAYER
You'll begin where all other athletes began their careers, at the bottom. You'll have to work your way up through the local meets. From there you enter the city championships. Doing well there you move onto district championships. Doing well there gets you to the national championships. Placing in the top three there gets you carded, which means you are eligible for international competition. But what if you didn't get top three, well then you can always achieve the standards to get that needed international card. From there, the world is yours to explore.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Here is where the bulk of the career mode lies. You'll travel from the EAA (European Athletics Assocation) League, through the IAAF (International Assocation of Athletics Federations) Grand prixs and super grand prix. Then into the IAAF Golden League, and World Championships. If you stay around long enough, you can enter the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and the 2008 Olympics. And of course, there are tons of money and invitational meets on the side too. 200+ meets to be exact.

Or you could just be a weight lifter and forget about the whole track thing...it's up to you...

As of right now, I have completed the majority of the game, and will now begin a full-scale testing phase. I will test it for 1-2 weeks, then give the beta testers another 1-2 weeks with the game. Hopefully, all the bugs will be fixed by then. Till next time...

GAMING IN TRACK AND FIELD HAS EVOLVED...

Every track game that has been created has always revolved around the basis of mashing buttons. That's the genre that track games have fallen into. But, no more...

World Track and Field 2005, the sequel to the little known cult-classic World Track and Field 2004 has evolved into a new breed. Most likely, these new ideas will show up on the consoles...but these ideas came from here first. How has the gaming evolved you ask?

BUTTON-MASHING NO MORE?
Not necessarily. You can still resort to the tried and true method of pounding on your keyboard for dear life, or you can try these 2 new ways to get your player moving.
     Button Generator Mode
Using only the mouse, random buttons will appear on the
top screen, and every click increases the players speed.
          This uses all hand-eye coordination.
     Key Generator Mode
Similar to a little Dance Dance Revolution, or any of the
music games, you will have to input the correct
arrow keys to get their player moving.

PHOTO FINISH?
The race is a tight...but most games don't let you take control of that last 5 meters, where you can win or lose that big race. In World Track and Field 2005, you CAN control your player, in black and white as you lean into the line, edging out your rivals.

I RAN A WORLD RECORD, BUT HOW CAN I PROVE I RAN IT?
Enter the replay saving option. Sure, other games let you see the replay, but most don't let you control the replay, or let you save it and show it for later references.

FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE CHARACTERS?
Building upon the structure of the previous game, World Track and Field 2005 boasts a more complete customization for your character, from skin color, right down to personality. You'll be creating a character you'll grow to love.

INJURIES, AND DRUGS?
For the first time ever, you CAN injure your character, which will result in real consequences.
To take drugs, or not to take drugs? That is the question you will have to ask yourself. But if you get caught, the consequences are very rigid.

CAREER MODE?
Another first for a track game. You will be able to take your player and take him through the rankings to the top to become the world champion. There will be bumps in the road, but a true champion will conquer all.

IS THAT A GHOST?
Remember the time you went X seconds. Now you will be able to race your ghost who ran that time, maybe even pushing you to new limits?

MORE?
Yes, there a tons more to the game than just this. Many you will have to unlock on your way to the top.

RELEASE DATE?
Hopefully, Summer 2005...

BETA TESTING?
Want to be a tester for this game? Drop me an email @ playthegame_24_7@hotmail.com, and I'll get back to you.
